Feeling burnt out at work?

Feeling burnt out at work? It's time to take your power back.

When you feel burnt out at work, it's easy to get stuck in a cycle of self-doubt and negative thinking. It's even easier to focus on all the things that are holding you back instead of the things that can move you forward. Unfortunately, that kind of thinking will only lead to more frustration and burnout.

But here's the thing: It's totally normal to feel this way from time to time! And there are ways to break free from those negative thoughts and get back to feeling good about yourself and your work again.

If you find yourself feeling burnt out at work, the first thing to do is check in with yourself - reflect. What’s triggering you? Are there any patterns that keep coming up? What emotions are you feeling? Do you feel overwhelmed or out of control? The truth is, there are things in this world that will always be out of our control - but the one thing we can control is our perspective.

There are ways you can change your perspective to make this moment in time more bearable. This week, try out a few different perspectives:

1. Change Your Perspective on Your Work

How do you feel about the work you're doing right now? What would happen if instead of thinking negatively about how much work is left or how difficult your job is, you look at what makes you light up, what really makes you happy? How can you use that knowledge to find purpose in your day-to-day life? So what makes you light up? Maybe it's being able to watch your idea come to life or seeing someone else enjoy something you created. Maybe it's the feeling of knowing that your work impacts other people's lives. Whatever it is, find out for yourself what really makes you light up, and then focus on using those skills to get you where you want to be!

2. Change Your Perspective on Yourself

What if instead of focusing on all the bad aspects of your work life, try focusing on what YOU need for yourself right now? What would make this moment better for YOU? How could you give yourself some space and time to regroup so that when you come back, you can be ready to tackle whatever comes next with renewed energy? More often than not, a complete distraction from what you’re focusing on will allow you to come back to your work with a fresh perspective.

3. Change Your Perspective about Others

Are you focusing on what others are doing to hold you back, or how they're making it harder for you to succeed? It's easy to feel like others are holding you back. It's easy to feel like you're not getting the opportunities you deserve, or that you're not being treated fairly. But when we focus on what others are doing and why they're doing it, we miss an important truth: nobody is holding us back but ourselves. We have the power to change our own lives, and no one else can do it for us. So stop focusing on what others are doing —focus on yourself instead! You don't need another person's approval; what matters most is that YOU believe in yourself and feel good about your life decisions. The rest will fall into place once you start believing in yourself!
